OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
-
Before
starting engine make sure caster handle is locked in upright position so
that work head is not in contact with surface. If your machine is a
model H-10 be sure the clutch is disengaged. Start engine and let it
warm up for a minute or two, then reduce throttle to slightly over
idling speed. On model H-10 pull clutch lever forward to engage drive.
Take firm hold of handle, kick caster handle toward operator out of
bracket slot with right foot and slowly lower work head to surface. Very
little or no pressure is required on handle. Let the machine doe the
work. To stop machine, lift up on handle and push caster handle with
right foot into bracket slot, disengage clutch and hold stop button on
magneto down until engine stops completely.
-
Start
by moving the machine slowly from right to left about 16" until the
cutters have cut a ridge to the depth required. Then, slowly pull the
cutter plate into the ridge and move slowly firm side to side into the
ridge caused be the initial cut, making a path convenient to the
operator. If cutting with the front of the plate (moving machine toward
operator); the best cutting motion is from right to left. If cutting
with the back of the plate, (moving machine away for the operator), the
best motion is from left to right. Five minutes of proper practice will
an expert operator.
